Our school district has been working very hard to update our school safety protocols. With the need to discuss school safety with students, we have been working toward becoming an ALICE school district. ALICE stands for, Alert, Lock down, Inform, Counter and Evacuate. We will be using the above story, "I'm not scared, I'm prepared!" by Julia Cook, to help us talk with our youngest elementary students about the possibility of an intruder within our schools and how to respond. We will also be practicing an ALICE drill to help students walk through the evacuation process, just like we do for fire and tornado drills.

Please reach out with any questions or concerns and we encourage all families to talk with your students about this necessary drill and information.

November 12th-16th, 2018 will be our annual food drive. Black Earth Elementary will be collecting and donating non-perishable food and hygiene items to Heights Unlimited. Mazomanie Elementary will be donating their collected items to the Mazomanie Community Food Pantry.

Look for a flyer to come home in your students backpack with the details and "Pantry Needs" list.

Thank you to our school communities for your generous support of our local food pantries!
